According to the Public Relations Department of Radio Salamat, dairy products are the primary source of dietary calcium — a vital mineral required for proper muscle contraction and nervous system function. A lack of calcium can cause muscle spasms, restlessness, heightened irritability, and musculoskeletal pain.

Additionally, consuming fermented dairy products such as yogurt and “doogh” (a traditional yogurt-based drink) can help improve sleep quality.

For those who experience discomfort such as bloating or stomach pain after consuming dairy, adding ingredients like ginger, cinnamon, or herbs such as mint, pennyroyal, or dill — and drinking warm milk — may alleviate these symptoms.

If dairy intake is not possible for any reason, calcium supplements can be used as an alternative to maintain proper calcium levels in the body.
